LEE BENDER, PhD
Your Personal Results Professional
  A Strong Start

Everyone has abilities, but the pioneers of change--the true
leaders--are the ones who use their abilities to make things happen. They test boundaries and explore new areas--and, in the process, they bring about positive changes that benefit us all.

Lee Bender has always believed that sometimes you have to break the rules to initiate change. Growing up near Dog River in Mobile, Alabama, as the oldest of six children (with five brothers!), she learned to be very independent and not to shy away from challenges. Everything she has done throughout her life shows her commitment to being her personal best.

Setting the Pace

Her drive for excellence helped Lee blaze through her studies at the University of Alabama, receiving her PhD in psychology the week after her 24th birthday. She immediately went to work as Assistant Professor at the University of San Francisco. She earned high evaluations from colleagues and students and was promoted to Associate Professor.

During her tenure at the university, Lee pioneered female membership in the Aquatic Park rowing clubs. She became the first female member in the South End Rowing Club and helped open the doors for other women who enjoy rowing or swimming in the San Francisco Bay.

When Lee decided to make the change to real estate, the same skills and abilities that made her a leader as a professor and as an individual pushed her to the front in real estate. She quickly developed innovative marketing techniques and received her broker's license in 1980. She was a top sales associate in San Francisco and the North Peninsula as a partner in a realty company for five years.

A Winning Record

A self-described overachiever, Lee has earned an impressive record of success in her 25+ years of professional real estate experience. The bottom line is RESULTS: what you get when you work with Lee.

"I take responsibility for the results my clients get: If they follow my suggestions, they will be powerful players in the marketplace. This is how I produce VALUE for them. In or out of real estate, the rules by which I live my life are to tell the truth and to do what I say I'll do. I work for equity, which means being fair, impartial, and dedicated to my clients' stake in their investment."

BILL REDICAN, PhD--Licensed Assistant
Bill is Lee's full-time licensed assistant--a virtual necessity in these days of complex and fast-moving transactions. He was one of Lee's first students at the University of San Francisco (1969-70) and went on to become her first student to earn a PhD (in experimental psychology, University of California, Davis, 1975). Before coming to Zephyr he worked for 15 years as an editor of post-secondary instructional media in real estate practices and principles as well as construction trades.

RANDALL KOSTICK--Managing Broker
Randall joined Zephyr in 1986 and became sales manager of the 24th Street office in 1998. Randall received an MBA from the Graduate School of Business of the University of Hawai'i. He serves on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Association of Realtors, having been appointed to the Executive Committee for the past several years. He has also served as Chairman of the Grievance Committee. Randall has an extraordinary understanding of real estate principles and transactions, coupled with a renowned sense of fairness and impartiality. If aspects of the deal become complex, we can and will turn to Randall for support. He personally scrutinizes and initials every contract completed in our office.

WILLIAM DRYPOLCHER--President and Founder
Mr. Drypolcher became a Realtor broker in 1975 and was one of the founders of Zephyr Real Estate in 1978. Named "Realtor of the Year" in 1986, Bill served as President of the SFAR in 1987. He also served on the Mayor's Housing Task Force and was a Commissioner of the San Francisco Housing Authority from 1990 to 1993. Bill frequently testifies as an expert witness in real estate litigation. He personally reviews all dual-agency contracts. He is proud to have served in combat as a U. S. Army infantry lieutenant in the Vietnam War.

KARRY KELLEY--Transaction Coordinator
Karry is the important member of the team who keeps the main file on each transaction--verifying that all the forms are filled out, signed, approved, and routed properly. He has had years of experience in an amazing variety of transactions--some far too complex even to imagine. At the end of the deal, Karry makes a copy of the complete transaction for each buyer or seller.

KAREN, TOM, MERCY AND JOHN--A Full-Time Office Support System
We all (including our clients) are truly fortunate to have the services of a talented and experienced office staff. Someone is in the Zephyr office seven days a week to make sure that calls from buyers and sellers are answered, faxes are received, listings are marketed properly, and the fast-moving stream of real-estate paperwork is channeled in the right directions. We are confident that we have the finest office staff in the Bay Area.

DEVIN MACDONALD--Photographer
We rely on the expert services of Devin MacDonald of LoneStarTours.com to create virtual tours for our listings. He also produces CD-ROM's of a listing's virtual tour, so agents and clients can take a copy with them to home or office.

BEAUREGARD
Beauregard (French for "good-looking") is the charming Maltese member of the team. Beauregard has been attending open houses with Lee for many years, and he earns his keep by greeting visitors and bringing a smile to the face of whomever he meets. He stays at home if anyone is allergic to dogs!

TALLULAH BELLE
In contrast to Beauregard 's "quiet dignity" his adorable sister Tallulah Belle is the "wild child" of the family. She has also been known to attend open houses with Lee and Beauregard.
